Sarto is a full-mortise, square-corner hinge in solid brass with ball-bearing knuckles. The leaves sit flush in the door and frame, and the bearings carry the weight so a heavy door swings with one finger and closes without a creak. Ease the nursery door shut at night and nobody stirs. Installation guide
These hinges need full-mortise, square-corner prep. Confirm the size and the number of hinges your door needs with your installer before cutting the door or frame.
- Mark the leaf outline on door and frame.
- Rout or chisel the recess to the thickness of the leaf.
- Fix with the supplied screws, pilot drilling hardwood first.
Care
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. No abrasives, no polish. Brass is meant to age with the house.
Shipping and returns
Free U.S. shipping on every order. Handling takes 3 business days and delivery 15 to 20 business days after the order; priority processing shortens that to 10 to 20. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unused, uninstalled pieces in their original packaging; a restocking fee of 5% applies, more if the packaging or parts are missing. Every piece carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Questions, answered
Will it fit my door?
Check the door thickness and backset in the specifications. If your doors sit outside that range, write to us before ordering and we will confirm.
Is the latch included?
Where a set includes a latch it is listed in the specifications. Sets for existing latches are marked as lever or knob only.
Is it handed?
Most Sofina levers are reversible. Where a piece is handed it is offered as left or right in the options.
Passage, privacy or dummy?
Passage turns and latches with no lock. Privacy adds a thumb turn for bathrooms and bedrooms. Dummy is a fixed pull for closets and pantry doors that do not latch.
Can it be used on an exterior door?
These sets are for interior doors. Brass will weather outside and the latches are not rated for exterior use.
Do I need a professional to fit it?
A competent installer with a chisel and a drill can fit a lever set. New mortises and pocket door hardware are better left to a carpenter.
