Match the box to the plate size before you order, and have a licensed electrician fit multi gang plates.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTurn off the power.\u003c\/strong\u003e Switch off the circuit at the breaker or fuse box before you touch anything.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eRemove the old cover plate.\u003c\/strong\u003e Take out the screws holding the existing plate, lift it away and set it aside.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTake out the old switch.\u003c\/strong\u003e Unscrew the old switch from the electrical box and ease it forward so you can reach the wiring.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eDisconnect the wires.\u003c\/strong\u003e Free the wires from the old switch. If they are wrapped around screws, loosen the screws. If they are pushed into holes at the back, cut them and strip the ends with a wire stripper.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eConnect the wires to the Brio switch.\u003c\/strong\u003e Black (live) to the brass or black screw, white (neutral) to the silver screw if your switch calls for it, green or bare copper to the green ground screw. Tighten each connection firmly.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eSecure the new switch.\u003c\/strong\u003e Fold the wires back into the box, line up the switch and fasten it with the screws supplied.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFit the brass plate.\u003c\/strong\u003e Set the Brio plate over the module and tighten the two face screws with a flathead screwdriver.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTurn the power back on.\u003c\/strong\u003e Reset the breaker or fuse at the panel.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTest it.\u003c\/strong\u003e Flip the toggle up and down. The light should switch cleanly on and off.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf anything is unclear at any step, stop and call a licensed electrician.
