The Brio 3 Way Rotary Dimmer is the dimmer for lights you control from two places: the top and bottom of the stairs, both doors of a long living room. Press the knurled dial to switch on and off, turn it to dim. Solid brass plate, hand finished, in Brushed Brass, Aged Brass or Matte Black with Brass, on plates of one to five positions.

Installation guide
Replaces an existing US standard 3 way dimmer or switch in about five minutes. Check that every bulb on the circuit is dimmable. A 3 way circuit has a traveler wire, so have a licensed electrician fit it if you are not comfortable with wiring.
- Turn off the power. Switch off the circuit at the breaker or fuse box before you touch anything.
- Remove the old cover plate. Take out the screws holding the existing plate, lift it away and set it aside.
- Take out the old dimmer. Unscrew the old dimmer from the electrical box and ease it forward so you can reach the wiring.
- Disconnect the wires. Free the wires from the old dimmer. If they are wrapped around screws, loosen the screws. If they are pushed into holes at the back, cut them and strip the ends with a wire stripper.
- Connect the wires to the Brio dimmer. Wrap each wire around its terminal screw and tighten, or push the stripped ends into the terminal holes. Follow the markings on the module.
- Secure the new dimmer. Fold the wires back into the box, line up the dimmer and fasten it with the screws supplied.
- Fit the brass plate. Set the Brio plate over the module and tighten the two face screws with a flathead screwdriver.
- Turn the power back on. Reset the breaker or fuse at the panel.
- Test it. Turn the dial. The lights should rise and fall smoothly with no flicker.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. No abrasives, no polish. Brass is meant to age with the house.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unused, uninstalled pieces in their original packaging; a restocking fee of 5% applies, more if the packaging or parts are missing. Every piece carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Does it fit a standard US wall box?
Yes. Every Brio plate mounts to a standard US box, one gang per position, using the screws already in the box.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. It is a short job for a licensed electrician, and it keeps the warranty intact.
Will the dimmer work with my LED bulbs?
With dimmable LED lamps, yes. Check the lamp packaging for the word dimmable before you order.
Can I mix a toggle, a dimmer and an outlet on one plate?
Yes. That is what the Build Your Own plate is for. Choose the plate size, then what each position does.
Which finish should I choose?
Brushed Brass reads warm and quiet, Aged Brass darker and softer, Matte Black with Brass sharp against pale walls. The sample kit lets you hold all three against your own wall.
Will the finish wear where I touch it?
The finish is on the brass itself, so it softens with use rather than peeling. Aged Brass is meant to darken further.
